Tears Over Spilled Beer - A poetry chapbook about healing from sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and childhood trauma with a touch of queerness!

 My name is Rylee, and I am a grateful recovering alcoholic, and I am a poet who might be past “amateur” status now with this published!

 This is my first published work of poetry, and as such I grew exponentially as a poet and as a human in the 11 months I spent writing this book. Some of the imagery and metaphors in this book are clunky! That’s okay. I have the rest of my life to publish more works of poetry, continued and everyone needs a first: this project was my lifeline after I was assaulted – at some point I began caring more about the quality of the poetry rather than just vomiting my feelings into my phone’s Notes app and applying random line-breaks to sound ‘poet-y.’ The poems in this book are not in chronological order, but I hope you can see the evolution in my skill as you read.
